Taken in 1983, titled Austrian and Swiss tour.
Those two are my defintion of a cyclotouriste, not those covered in day glo item, helmets, mirrors, handlebar set higher than your shoulder etc. just a couple of normal looking blokes who look like they’re in for an adventure, not a commute to work.
I done just that in the state when I did a one day tour, right down to the cowboy hat even, and it was nice to just relax and take it easy if a little too warm, locals behaved more at ease around you, they related to you more than wearing all the weird safety equipment.
A tour needn’t be just about the beautiful scenery you’ll be able to explore, but the people amongst it.
